incline veterinary hospital - kris moger

Dr. Kris Moger, DVM

Doctor

Dr. Kris Moger grew up in Connecticut and received her DVM degree from the University of Florida in 1992. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, she became an emergency clinician with employment in Stratford and New Haven, CT. Dr. Moger also served as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac College, teaching Clinical Pathology to students in the Veterinary Technology program. She was later hired as the Director of Clinical Services at the New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine. In 1997, Dr. Moger relocated to Monterey, CA, where she continued working as an ER doctor. In 1999, Dr. Moger purchased her first practice in the central valley town of Madera, CA.

She realized her opportunity to develop a lower-quality one-doctor practice into a full-service hospital with three doctors, a large, well-trained support staff, and a beautiful modern facility. Dr. Moger was able to sell her practice and relocate to Incline Village with her husband and eight-year-old daughter in June 2013.

Although Dr. Moger cherished her time off, she missed the challenges of veterinary medicine and purchased the Incline Veterinary Hospital in October of 2014. Dr. Moger loves being an integral part of this wonderful community and continues to strive to strengthen the bond between Incline Pets and their human families.

Dr. Moger’s professional interests include emergency medicine and surgery, clinical pathology, and care of “pocket pets” (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, hamsters, etc.). Her other interests include baseball (a huge NY Yankee fan!), and she is an avid softball player and coach. She loves to ski, hike, and camp, and is also an NAFC-certified fitness instructor. Dr. Moger is also involved in the annual Incline Star Follies as a dancer and choreographer. She and her family enjoy the company of her dog, Marty, and two cats, Tessa and Parker.

Dr. Kevin Oran, VMD

Doctor

Dr. Kevin Oran has an undergraduate B.S. from the University of Minnesota and received his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. He worked for six years at a busy, nine-doctor animal practice in Chicago, Illinois. For the past two years, he has worked at a small animal practice in Orange County, California. He recently moved to Lake Tahoe with his husband and Yellow Lab.

Dr. Kevin’s areas of interest include preventative, internal, and geriatric medicine, with a special interest in dentistry. He is currently in school to begin practicing acupuncture as well.

“I have always wanted to be a veterinarian and I got my first job in the field when I was 15. I have never looked back, and it was the right decision for me! As one would expect, I was initially attracted to the field by the pets; however, I quickly realized that the relationship I formed with the owners was equally as important and rewarding.”

Dr. Kevin’s hobbies include hiking, skiing, traveling, and cooking. “I am so excited and proud to be a new member of the Lake Tahoe region. We are so grateful for the warmth and generosity of this community already!”

Dr. Mulchi

Dr. Abby Mulchi, DVM

Doctor

Dr. Mulchi is from Raleigh, NC where she was born and raised. She attended North Carolina State University for her undergraduate studies where in 2008 she received a B.S. in Biochemistry. After this, she attended North Carolina State University -College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2012 with her DVM. She went on to train at Carolina Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Greensboro and Winston Salem, NC completing a one-year rotating internship in Internal Medicine and Surgery. At this time much to her surprise, she developed a passion for Emergency Medicine.

In her first year out of the internship, she worked full-time for a mixed animal practice in the foothills of the Appalachians in rural North Carolina assisting her husband in the upstart of a small farm that focused on grass-fed/pasture-raised organic meat and eggs. However; she quickly remembered her love for ER and found that she was completing more ‘part-time’ hours at her prior clinic than at her ‘full-time job. It was then she decided to move back to Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Mulchi worked with Carolina Veterinary Specialists and Emergency full-time from 2014 to 2020 as well as a part-time in general practice with a few local family veterinarians. It was in early 2020 that she and her husband decided that ‘the mountains were calling (as well as Lake Tahoe!) and they must go’. In June 2020 she, her husband, and senior pup ‘Petey’ made their move to Reno, NV. She continued to work in Emergency Medicine for Blue Pearl -Reno (previously known as Sierra Veterinary Specialists) up until May 2022. She and her husband have decided to move to Incline Village, NV to enjoy the small-town mountain life. She is excited to join the Incline Veterinary Hospital family.

Megan Robson

Hospital Manager
Megan is originally from the Bay Area. She moved to Quincy, California to pursue two associate of science degrees. After completing her degrees, she lived in Reno, before calling Incline Village home.

Prior to working in veterinary medicine, Megan worked in the equine field for six years, training horses and managing barns. She brings four years of veterinary technician and office management experience to her role at Incline. Most recently, she has gained experience working at a veterinary emergency and specialty surgery center in Reno as an ER triage and critical care assistant.

Megan has two dogs of her own – a Queensland Heeler named Mavrik, and a Miniature Pinscher mix named Cedar. These two go on all of her adventures, from paddleboarding to hiking.

Kailey Larson

Lead Veterinary Assistant
Kailey grew up in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and lives in Gardnerville, NV. Kailey has been a team member at Incline Veterinary Hospital for five years now. She loves the profession and the people here at Incline, which keeps her commuting here daily to support our beautiful town and all of its pets.

Kailey started her career in veterinary medicine about six years ago, working for another general practice in Reno, NV. Since then, she has worked alongside Dr. Moger for the last five years and has loved every minute of it. Kailey enjoys working with your wonderful pets and assisting in procedures at Incline Veterinary Hospital.

In Kailey’s free time, she likes to volunteer at the local animal rescue WARF, even recently adopting a senior dog named Frito. She also enjoys hiking, walking on Tahoe’s beaches, watching various tv shows, and listening to a good story on audiobook.

Asa Strange

Veterinary Assistant
Asa grew up in the Bay Area, relocating to Incline Village in 2016. He is currently enrolled at Sierra Nevada University as a Biology Major, with dreams to become a veterinarian himself someday.

Before joining the staff of IVH in September of 2020, Asa worked as an animal caretaker, kennel attendant, and veterinary assistant to Dr. Kim Barnes, DVM. He worked for a busy hospital & boarding facility in the area before eventually finding his way to Incline. He has always had a passion for animal care and hopes to receive a degree in the DVM field.

While he currently has no pets of his own, he does share a home with a husky mix named Luna, whom he loves like his own dog. In his spare time, Asa enjoys getting outside and getting active as much as possible – he loves baseball, softball, basketball, football, going to the gym, and snowboarding.

Zoe

Zoe Belser

Veterinary Assistant
Zoe grew up in the Lake Tahoe area and lives in Incline Village. Zoe has held an interest in the veterinary field for a long time and began volunteering and working as a kennel attendant at Pet Network Humane Society around 2014. She is currently working on earning an Animal Biology at UC Davis in hopes of eventually pursuing a veterinary graduate degree. Zoe joined the incline veterinary hospital team in December 2020 as a veterinary assistant during her gap year and has since returned during another break in studies. In her downtime, she enjoys art and outdoor activities such as rock climbing, disc golf, and hiking with her Australian kelpie mix named Loki.

Jessica Mahaffey

Receptionist
Jessica Mahaffey is a native of Nevadan and moved to Incline Village two years ago. She previously worked for Boy Scouts of America as the Trading Post Manager. Jess is currently completing her veterinary receptionist certification. Outside of work, she loves being with her two sons and fiancé, hiking, camping, riding bikes, and playing softball.

Jessica has always been an animal lover. Growing up, she cared for neighbors’ animals when they traveled and experienced a variety of pets. After experiencing puppies with her Chihuahua in the fall of 2021, it strengthened Jess’s love for animals, which led to her position with Incline Veterinary Hospital!

Taylor Freeman

Receptionist
Taylor is originally from Newport Beach CA but has resided in Incline Village for the last 2 years with her longtime boyfriend. Taylor is just starting her career in veterinary medicine here at Incline Vet Hospital in July 2022. She started with us as a receptionist but is currently working on her certification to become both a certified veterinary receptionist and an assistant. She is very excited to work on starting a career in veterinary medicine, as animals have always been a passion for her.

Taylor loves the outdoors, she and her Border Collie Bilbo Baggins, love to hike Tahoe’s beautiful trails and go swimming in the clear blue waters here. Although they both love to adventure together, a nice movie at home snuggled up together is always a favorite.
