Dr. Kateryna Sovik, DVM
Medical Director
Dr. Kateryna Sovik grew up in Ukraine, where her love for animals began at an early age. As a child, she cared for neighborhood stray dogs and cats, nurturing a deep compassion for animal welfare that would shape her future. In 2016, she graduated from Kharkiv Zoo Veterinary Academy and launched her career as a veterinarian specializing in small animal care.
After moving to the United States in 2022, Dr. Sovik continued pursuing her passion for veterinary medicine. She joined Incline Veterinary Hospital in 2024, where she now serves as Medical Director. Dr. Sovik is committed to delivering exceptional, personalized care and has a special interest in dermatology and dentistry. She also enjoys mentoring her team and building trusted relationships with pet owners.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sovik loves to travel and spend time with her husband and their two children. Her life is grounded in compassion—for animals, her clients, and her family.
Dr. Ivan Grechanichenko, VGAL
Doctor / Veterinary Graduate Awaiting Licensure (VGAL)
Ivan Grechanichenko developed a love for science at an early age, fascinated by biology and chemistry. Originally dreaming of becoming a biologist, his path took a turn after reading All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. The heartfelt stories of veterinary life left a lasting impression and inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Russia and is currently awaiting licensure. Six years ago, Ivan began honing his skills in surgery, gaining hands-on experience in large emergency hospitals in Moscow and providing house-call services for pets whose families were unable to visit a clinic.
In 2022, Ivan moved to the United States to continue his veterinary journey. After gaining experience at a small animal practice in California, he joined the team at Incline Veterinary Hospital. He is dedicated to ongoing education and regularly attends veterinary conferences, master classes, and advanced training courses.
Outside of work, Ivan enjoys photography, studying history, hiking and camping with his family. Recently, they adopted an adorable cat named Popsicle from a local shelter.
Dr. John Prokup
Doctor
Dr. John Prokup earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University and has over 10 years of experience in general practice and emergency medicine. He has advanced ultrasound training, enhancing his diagnostic capabilities.
Inspired by his first dog, Indiana, Dr. Prokup is dedicated to preserving the bond between pets and their families. His passion for veterinary medicine stems from the unconditional love he experienced, motivating him to ensure that as many animals as possible receive the care they deserve.
Outside of work, Dr. Prokup enjoys snowboarding, camping, scuba diving, and woodworking. He shares his home with partner, Hannah, his dog, Jude, and his cat, Kitty.
Fabiana
LVT
Fabiana grew up in Brazil and her love for animals blossomed at a younger age, shaping her path towards a fulfilling career in veterinary medicine. She knew early on the veterinary field was where her heart belonged. She is a dedicated veterinary technician with over 15 years of hands on experience caring for our furry and sometimes feathery and scaly friends. Her curiosity and interest in biology and anatomy lead her to pursue a couple degrees.
After moving to South Lake Tahoe in 2011, Fabiana earned an associate degree from Lake Tahoe Community College—where she also met her wonderful husband. South Lake Tahoe became her home for 14 amazing years! She then continued her studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science.
Outside of her professional life she is surrounded by her two beautiful daughters her adventurous husband and Charlie, her tiny chihuahua with the biggest personality! In early 2025, her family embraced a new chapter by moving to Incline Village—and they absolutely love it here! Fabiana looks forward to many more years of helping animals live happier, healthier lives—and creating unforgettable memories with her family along the way!
Gigy
Lead CSR
Gigy serves as our Lead Client Service Representative. Originally from Bolivia, she relocated to Incline in 2020 and became a valued member of our team in 2024. A passionate animal lover, Gigy believes that dogs are the most beautiful creatures in the world. With her trilingual abilities in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, she is a significant asset to the Incline team. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and cherishing moments with her three children.
Zoe Belser
CSR/Veterinary Assistant
Zoe is originally from the beautiful Lake Tahoe area and has been an integral part of the Incline Vet Hospital team since 2020. With a deep passion for veterinary medicine, she aspires to become a veterinarian one day. Zoe studied Animal Biology at UC Davis, where she honed her knowledge and skills in the field. Her dedication to animal welfare began early, volunteering at Pet Network during high school.
In her free time, Zoe loves exploring the great outdoors with her two dogs, Echo and Loki. Whether she’s hiking, climbing, skiing, or enjoying any of the many outdoor activities Lake Tahoe has to offer, Zoe embraces every opportunity to connect with nature and her furry companions.
Emmalee Bishop
CSR/Veterinary Assistant
Emmalee grew up in Carson City NV, she just started her career in veterinary medicine this June 2023. Emmalee wants to pursue an associate of veterinary science to become a licensed technician in Nevada. Working with exotic animals is her aspiration. A long-term goal would be to pursue her doctorate in veterinary medicine and become an exotic pet DVM. Prior to working for Incline Vet, Emmalee was a hostess at the Hyatt for 2 years, giving her the excellent customer service experience.
Currently she has 4 dogs and a leopard gecko, she loves to travel, as well as go hiking and camping. She has lived near the Tahoe basin her whole life, and now being able to work in the area while working towards her life long career of veterinary medicine has made the perfect combination.
Brooklyn Young
Veterinary Assistant
Brooklyn is originally from a small town in central Nevada, where she was raised on a working cattle ranch. From a young age, she was actively involved in caring for livestock and often assisted the family veterinarian, which sparked her early interest in animal health and veterinary medicine.
She is currently pursuing her education to become a licensed veterinary technician, with a strong focus on large animal care. Brooklyn’s long-term goal is to specialize in working with horses, cattle, and other farm animals, combining her rural roots with formal training.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Brooklyn enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with friends—often hosting game nights or sharing homemade treats.
